After your home collection, we take you across the country to Hull for our overnight crossing to Rotterdam with P&O Ferries. Dinner, breakfast, and a lower berth cabin are included. On day 2, we journey by coach to our overnight hotel in the Frankfurt area, and on day 3, we head to Passau to board MS Viva Two for 7 nights.

Passau

Due to its special geographical location at the confluence of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz rivers, Passau is undoubtedly one of the most unique cities in Germany. Not only is the location of the city on the three rivers exceptional, but Passau also offers its visitors numerous remarkable sights. Towering above the city of the Veste Oberhaus, an impressive fortress dating back to the 13th century. The old town of Passau is known for its beautiful baroque architecture, especially the Cathedral of St. Stephen, with its characteristic onion domes and the largest organ in the world, with almost 18,000 pipes!

Krems

Krems is considered one of the oldest towns in Austria; it was first mentioned as Chremisa as early as 995, and the town charter for Krems and Stein is documented for the year 1305. This centuries-long history, which has always been closely interwoven with the Danube, is reflected in the old towns, which have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Wachau since 2000. There is much to discover on a walk through Krems and Stein: be it the many churches from different eras or the narrow, cobbled streets, and picturesque squares with their historic buildings, statues, and small monuments - those who walk through Krems and Stein with open eyes will be richly rewarded! If the Wachau weather is not in such a good mood, the museums of the Art Mile Krems offer a varied program for young and old.

Vienna

The capital of Austria is one of those cities that every traveller should have visited once in the course of his life. Hardly any other city in the world has to offer such an enchanting combination of magnificent architecture, world-famous museums and theatres and beautiful green spaces. No wonder, the entire city centre of Vienna is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Vienna is known worldwide for its palaces of emperors, kings and nobles, such as Schonbrunn Palace, the Belvedere and the Hofburg. But the city's many churches, especially the landmark St. Stephen's Cathedral, are also worth a visit.

Budapest

"Pearl of the Danube" or "Paris of the East"? One thing is certain, Budapest has a lot to offer! From afar, the Parliament building on the banks of the river greets you and lets the Hungarian capital shine in its old splendour. The imposing Chain Bridge invites you to explore the districts of Buda and Pest, which are adorned with Art Nouveau buildings, wide avenues, and thermal baths steeped in history. After a piece of the famous Baumkuchen, the breathtaking view from the Castle Hill with its Castle Palace and the impressive Fishermen's Bastion can be enjoyed even better.

Bratislava

The capital of Slovakia is located on the border with Austria and Hungary. It is home to about 450,000 people. The old tow of Bratislava dates back to the 18th century and is a great place to stroll around thanks to its car-free zone. The cafes and bars there serve the city's famous fark beer. Bratislava's landmark - the Bratislava Castle - is located on a hill. From its terrace you have the best view of the city and the Danube.

Melk

Melk has acquired a beautiful name: the gateway to the Wachau. Anyone approaching the historic town on the Danube will discover Melt Abbey perched high above the river very early on. The abbey is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is worth a visit in all seasons. The impressive Baroque ensemble has been cared for by the monks of the Benedictine order since the year 1089. Culture, faith, and science are united in the magnificent rooms of the monastery.

Return Journey

On day 10, we bid farewell MS VIVA Two in Passau and journey towards Rotterdam with an overnight stay (DB&B) included. On day 11, we continue to the port to board our P&O ferry, again with dinner, breakfast, and a lower berth cabin included, and on day 12, we disembark in Hull and return home.

Special requests

Any special request should be advised to us at the point of booking, especially so in the case of those with limited mobility. Please consider that, as most of our customers book by telephone, if this information is not forthcoming our staff cannot ascertain if a chosen holiday is suitable for your mobility level and ensure your holiday is successful. Whilst we will endeavour to do all possible to satisfy any special request, please be aware that this is a ‘request’ only, unless it has been guaranteed in writing with the hotel.

Itineraries & attractions

All holiday inclusions are listed on our website and then re-confirmed to you when you receive your travel documents. As the holidays are packaged many months, and sometimes over a year, in advance of departure, on rare occasions we may be forced to amend an itinerary or change an attraction. In such instances, we will always do our best to provide a ‘like for like’ alternative and advise you as soon as possible.

Contact information

If you become lost whilst on tour, we advise that you contact our office on 01253 725999 so that we can inform your driver and help you relocate the coach (listen to the end of the answering machine message for our emergency contact number if calling outside of office hours). We request that you provide us with a mobile phone number in advance of travel and keep your mobile phone switched on for the duration of the excursion so that we can contact you in this event. We kindly request that you also provide us with your emergency contact details. This is the name and telephone number of a friend or family member (somebody who is not travelling with you) that we could contact in the event of an emergency whilst you are on tour.

Identification

We recommend that you take some form of Photographic Identification with you on holiday (i.e. Passport, Bus Pass, or Driver’s License). In some cases, Photo ID will be a requirement, for example, where there are ferry crossings, flights, EU travel, or visits to RAF bases or royal residences. This will be advised to you in writing when you receive your booking confirmation.

Cancellation terms

Our cancellation terms are available to view on our website under Booking Conditions. All of our holidays operate subject to a minimum number of passengers being achieved. If these are not met, the tour may be cancelled by us, and a full refund will be issued. However, if you wish to cancel your holiday, a cancellation charge will be incurred.

Regardless of your chosen destination, we recommend that you consider taking out a comprehensive Travel Insurance policy, to cover you in the event of cancellation. BP Insurance Brokers offer competitive prices to patrons of G-Line Holidays and can be contacted on 01253 747258.

Gratuities

Gratuities are not included as part of your excursion cost and are also not compulsory. However, much in the same way as good service in a local restaurant may be rewarded, if you feel you have received a service worthy of reward from your coach driver, we would encourage you to show your appreciation personally.
