Our first visit of 2025 to Portmeirion Village, on Sunday 2nd March, was met with clear skies and a full coach of wonderful clients. Situated on the coast of North Wales, Portmeirion is an enchanting Italianate-style village designed by Sir Clough Ellis Williams from 1925 to 1975. This amazing and inspiring location is full of aesthetic wonders, from its architecture to its gardens.

 

Our staff member, Rachel, attended the trip and writes about her experience.

 

"I've never been to Portmeirion before but it's always been on my bucket list - and I was not disappointed. I couldn't stop taking photos of the brightly coloured architecture and quirky little buildings.

 

Dining at The Hotel Portmeirion was one of the highlights of the day. The Beef Roast dinner was simply the best I have ever tasted, with stuffed Yorkshire pudding, fluffy roast potatoes, and cauliflower cheese with buttery breadcrumbs. All this alongside first-class service and sparkling tableware. It was a beautiful setting to dine, overlooking the Dwyryd Estuary in Snowdonia.

 

After my meal, I did the coastal walk and the woodland walk, both offering stunning views and things to see including a Chinese Lake and carved woodland creatures. The gift shop was also delightful, full of souvenirs for 'Prisoner' fans, plus lots of beautiful homeware, gardenware, gifts and fine art prints of Portmeirion.

 

My only regret was that it was not quite warm enough to enjoy one of their famous ice creams! I will definitely be back and would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an interesting day out with friends or family."
