Andrew began his career in the travel &
tourism industry as a mechanic, before gaining his PCV license
and operating coach tours throughout the UK & Europe. A
position with the Bowens Travel Group followed, before sales,
marketing and management positions for the Classic Lodges and
Sleepwell Hotel groups. Andrew then spent 7 years managing an
established Coach Holiday company in his native North East
before being offered the position of Manager at G-Line Holidays
in 2015. A qualified Transport Manager with 30 years of
experience in the industry, Andrew is a proud father of
two girls and enjoys playing snooker and pool in his spare
time.
Alan began his employment at G-Line in 2019 and
quickly became a key member of our Operations team. He has
an extensive background in the travel industry, which
now spans over 20 years, having previously worked for
Thomas Cook. Alan arrived in a Business Development role,
but has now taken up our Private Hire sector, amongst other
roles within the business. In 2023, he qualified as a
Transport Manager. Away from G-Line, Alan has a young family
who keep him on his toes, but when time allows he is frequently
found following his football team around the country and
golfing at the weekends. A day out to Cartmel Races is Alan's
favourite excursion.
Rachel first began working for G-Line on
Saturdays at the age of 15 in 2010, and has since progressed
through multiple departments of the business, to the role of
Assistant Manager. In 2014, she achieved a Diploma in
Journalism, and in 2016, whilst assisting our Accounts team,
she achieved Level 3 in AAT Accounting. In addition to writing
the copy for all of our marketing literature, she
also co-ordinates the operation of our holiday
itineraries. Outside of work, Rachel is
currently undertaking a part-time
BA (Hons) Degree in Arts & Humanities. As
a TV & movie fan, her bucket-list
destinations are the iconic filming locations of
Alnwick Castle in Northumberland and the Giant's Causeway
in Northern Ireland.
Marcia started with G-Line Holidays as a
courier driver, and in 2012 began working in our St.
Anne's office full-time. As well as dealing with bookings
and enquiries, Marcia's extensive roles include loading
all the holidays & day excursions into our Tour
Booking System (Distinctive Systems), organising logistics
for our home collection service, and occasional courier
work. Marcia enjoys touring the country with G-Line,
as it gives her the opportunity to crochet on board the
coach. Her favourite places to visit are Southern Ireland and
Scotlands Hebrides, and she also loves to book onto
Theatre trips and attend the Knitting & Stitching
Shows in Harrogate.
Jackie started working in the G-Line office in
2012, having worked alongside the company for at least 10
years prior, in the booking of private hire coaches in her
previous role as Social Secretary at the Land Registry
& Wyre Council. Jackie currently works for
the company two days a week in our reservations
department, taking bookings, helping with customer enquiries
and planning our regular lunch excursions. Jackie has
an excellent knowledge of hotels and attractions in UK, and
enjoys checking out new destinations for
the suitability of our clients. Her favourite places
to visit are Sidmouth and Scotland, with their beautiful
scenery and walking routes.
Joanne came to G-Line Holidays
in 2019. Always having had a passion for working in
the travel industry, Joanne gained a
BTEC & Diploma in Travel & Tourism,
which became part of her BA (Hons) Degree in Business
Management. Her previous work experience includes
Partington's Holiday Parks and working abroad for Thomas
Cook as a Holiday Representative. She is currently working
three days a week, taking bookings and helping with
customer enquiries, as well as collating all of our
customer feedback for review. Joanne has two children and is
often seen taking them on G-Line excursions to visit new
places and make memories with her family.
