Our staff member, Rachel, recently enjoyed a familiarisation trip to Keswick Market, Lakes Distillery and Bassenthwaite Lake Station.
She said, "This was such a lovely area to explore, despite the chill in early February, the marketplace was buzzing and had lots of great stalls to browse.
"The Lakes Distillery tour was very interesting and accessible to all. The tour ended with a tasting of whisky, gin, and vodka. The vodka was so smooth, it tasted almost like water. There's also a lovely Bistro on site, where I enjoyed a hot drink.
"Then it was on to Bassenthwaite Lake Station for Afternoon Tea. This stationary carriage cafe is where scenes were filmed for the 2017 adaptation of Agatha Christie's 'Murder on the Orient Express.' I loved the ambience of the place; you really feel as if you've stepped into a film set. The staff were extremely friendly, and the food was absolutely delightful. You wouldn't expect miniature portions to be so filling! Thank you to Diana for a great experience."
