Important Notice RE Fuel Surcharges

This notice is in reference to the well-publicised situation with fuel prices, and particularly Diesel fuel, which ALL of our vehicles require to function.

 

Diesel costs at the pumps today are 45p per litre more than when we calculated the costs of our current Excursion Programme, and nearly 60p per litre more than when we calculated the price of our 2026 Holiday Programme.

 

As a family-owned business which has serviced Lancashire for nearly 60 years, we have absorbed any cost increases to date in the hope that the conflict in the Middle East will be resolved soon, and as things stand today, we will continue to absorb these increases.

 

However, as fuel costs continue to rise daily, we are asking for your understanding and consideration that we may need to reconsider this stance in the near future.

 

In this unfortunate situation, any fuel surcharge would be calculated solely on mileage and either advised to our passengers at the point of booking, or in the case of existing holiday bookings, at the point your balance payment is due.

 

If implemented, this policy will be reviewed weekly and adjusted accordingly, dependent on the cost of fuel at that time.

 

While this situation remains fluid, based on the current price of Diesel fuel today, we would expect any surcharge applied to be nominal. Please see below some examples in monetary terms:

 

• An excursion which is travelling approx. 150 miles (e.g. Liverpool) will incur a surcharge of £2.00 pp; an excursion which is travelling approx. 270 miles (e.g. Shrewsbury) will incur a surcharge of £3.00 pp.

 

• A holiday which is travelling approx. 360 miles (e.g. Warner’s Thoresby Hall) will incur a surcharge of £4.00 pp; a holiday which is travelling approx. 910 miles (e.g. Cornwall) will incur a surcharge of £10.00 pp.
