Black Sheep Brewery
On the outbound or return journey we will stop at Black Sheep Brewery for a tour and tasting session, giving you a full insight into how their beers are made and the unique processes used to create the perfect pint.
B, DYarm, Sun Inn & Helm
After breakfast, we journey the short distance to the picturesque market town of Yarm, where you have some time free to explore. You could enjoy some retail therapy browsing the shops in the high street, take a stroll along the banks of River Tees, or simply watch the world go by. Later we drive through Bilsdale, known as 'little Switzerland', to the Sun Inn, which has had the same landlord for 200 years! We call in to enjoy a real treat - Yorkshire Curd Tart. Leaving here, we pass Rievaulx Abbey and drop into Helmsley with its 12th-century castle. After enjoying some free time, we travel back to the hotel via a scenic journey over Sutton Bank, giving you fantastic views of the moors and the Vale of York.
B, DRichmond & Kilburn
We begin this excursion with a drive to historic Richmond, situated high above the River Swale. Richmond offers a beautiful Castle, the Green Howards Museum and the Richmondshire Museum, which houses the film set from 'All Creatures Great & Small.' Next, we head for the village of Kilburn. Home of 'Mousey Thompson,' a famous wood worker renowned for its little mouse carvings and hand-carved oak furniture that adorns houses throughout the land.
B, DNYMR & Whitby
Sit back and take in the rugged scenery as we board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a journey from Pickering to Whitby. Made famous as the inspiration of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', beautiful Whitby is often been crowned the UK's top holiday destination, and it's easy to see why. Browse the quaint shops and winding streets, ascend the 199 steps to the Abbey, take a walk along the working harbour, or relax in one of the award-winning eateries, offering the best fish & chips in North Yorkshire!
B, DKWVR (Oct only)
On the outbound journey to our hotel, we join the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for a nostalgic train journey from the pretty town of Keighley, nestling between the charming countryside of Airedale and Haworth Moorland, to the literary village of Haworth, home of the Brontë family. (Please note: This replaces Wensleydale Railway which is unavailable during these dates.)
